Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has reacted to the outcome of the just concluded African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) were her film “A Tribe Called Judah” missed out on all nominations.
Despite being nominated in three categories—Best Movie, Best Lead Actress, and Best Makeup Artist—the movie fell short, with Kehinde Bankole clinching the Best Lead Actress award for “Adire” and “Breath of Life” securing the Best Movie title.
Akindele’s reaction came in the form of a cryptic post on her Instagram story—a dark, blank page, possibly reflecting her disappointment with the loss.
“A Tribe Called Judah” had made waves as the highest-grossing Nollywood film, amassing over one billion naira at the box office.
