Singer Adekunle Gold has revealed how he battled with Sickle Cell anamea for the past years.
In a tweet on his platform X (formerly known as Twitter), the singer said:
“Over the last 2 years, I have spoken about this disease during my performances, but I realize that more needs to be done.
Every year, over 100,000 children are born with Sickle Cell in Nigeria alone. Sickle Cell has no cure; it is highly under-researched because it primarily affects West Africans.”
“I want to ensure that all the independent organizations doing the vital work, outreach, and research needed to fight Sickle Cell receive the resources and support that they desperately need. “
