Three Kids Rescued As Inferno Rages Through Delta Storey Building

Three children were rescued as a fire gutted a storey building at Obi Onuorah Crescent, behind Okowe Plaza in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

When The bushradiogist visited the scene on Friday, it was observed that the roof and two apartments were completely destroyed, resulting in damages worth millions of naira. The cause of the fire had not yet been determined at the time of reporting.

Speaking to our correspondent, Mrs. Gloria Sado, a widow and mother of four, who was in tears, appealed to Nigerians for help. She said, “I returned home Thursday night around 9 pm and saw our house on fire. Three of my children were inside while one was with me at the market.

Thankfully, we managed to rescue my children with great effort. I still don’t know what caused the fire. All three fire services that responded didn’t have water to extinguish the fire, and our property was reduced to ashes.”

Her neighbor, Simon Amalimen, a father of two, recounted, “I was in my apartment when I heard shouts of ‘fire, fire!’ I came out and saw flames coming from my neighbor’s apartment. Learning that three children were inside, we rushed in to save them, but the fire spread to my apartment. I managed to rescue my wife and two children, escaping with only the boxers I was wearing.”

By the time the third fire service arrived, both apartments and their contents had been completely burnt. The victims are now homeless, and sympathizers have bought some clothes for them.
