The Kano police command has revealed that Emir Muhammad Sanusi II will be conducting the Friday prayers at the central mosque instead of Aminu Bayero.
Commissioner Usaini Gumel, speaking over the phone on Friday, mentioned that Mr. Bayero will be attending his Friday prayers at the mosque within the Nasarawa Palace, his current residence.
The police chief of Kano assured that comprehensive security measures would be in place at the Emir of Kano’s palace, where Mr. Sanusi is slated to lead the Jummah prayers, along with the collaboration of state security agencies.
The police urge the general public to disregard the false reports and misinformation circulating on social media and go about their activities without fear of molestation or intimidation.
”The police will continue to provide necessary security to ensure that will enable residents to observe their Friday congressional prayers peacefully without threats to their lives and property,” Mr Gumel said.
He encouraged individuals to provide trustworthy information regarding the activities of suspicious individuals, enabling swift security measures in Kano
