Ex-VP, Atiku condemns Abia violence, calls for political resolution

Ex- Vice-president Atiku Abubakar has condemned the violence in Abia State that resulted in the death of soldiers and civilians on Thursday.

He extended his condolences to the families and friends of the victims, expressing hope for peace for their departed souls.

Abubakar highlighted the significant disruption caused by the sit-at-home order in the Southeast, especially affecting students sitting for WAEC examinations.

He emphasized the need to distinguish criminal elements from legitimate agitators, urging action against those hiding under the guise of “Unknown Gunmen” to perpetrate violence.

Calling for a political resolution to the Nnamdi Kanu situation and related issues, Abubakar suggested that such a move would alleviate the tension in the region, benefiting all parties involved
