SEE List of unions joining organised labour nationwide strike on Monday

As announced by the NLC, the Organized Labour is set for indefinite nationwide industrial action over a new minimum wage as the planned total shutdown in Nigeria from midnight, Monday, June 3, 2024 stands.

According the report, economic activities across the nation will be grounded as workers in the banking, oil and gas, medical and health, electricity, aviation, judiciary, and university sectors, among others, have been directed by the leadership of their unions to join the nationwide strike declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).

However, the unions joining the strike are;

1. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).

2. Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN),

3. Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU)

4. National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees (NUBIFIE)

5. Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Nigeria Union of Railway Workers (NURW)

6. National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE)

7. Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG)

8. Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN)

10. National Union of Civil Engineering Construction

11. Furniture and Wood Workers (NUCECFWW),

12. Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals (ANAP)

14. Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC).

At the time of filing this reporter, the federal government was of the opinion that the leadership of labour should go back to the negotiation table.
