Tinubu condemns Katsina killings, orders military crackdown on bandits

President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, condemned the recent series of attacks on citizens in the Dutsin-Ma and Kankara Local Government Areas of Katsina State.

At least 26 people, including four police officers, were killed in an attack by bandits in Katsina State.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 10, around 3 pm in Gidan Boka village, Kankara LGA.

Police spokesperson in Katsina, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, detailed the attack in a statement on Monday.

He reported that bandits, armed with weapons, attacked Gidan Boka village, killing 20 people and injuring two others.

In a statement on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the President described the attacks as grisly and sinister.

“President Tinubu emphasises that more will be done to secure citizens and completely degrade terrorists and other harbingers of death and sorrow in any part of the country.

“President Tinubu directs security agencies to go after the assailants and ensure that they are brought to justice.

“The President condoles with the families of the deceased, as well as the Government and people of Katsina State, and prays for the repose of the souls of the departed,” Ngelale said.
