Osinbajo Urges Churches to Question Politicians’ Donations

Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has called on churches to scrutinize donations from politicians and other individuals to support evangelism, emphasizing the need for transparency and integrity. Speaking on Saturday during the inaugural lecture in honor of the late senior pastor of Fountain of Life Church, Taiwo Odukoya, Osinbajo highlighted the importance of questioning the sources of such funds.

Addressing the congregation, Osinbajo stated, “How often do those who receive money from politicians and from other sources ask for the source of the money?” He stressed that the church has a critical role in inculcating good values that Christians in public service can uphold.

Osinbajo’s remarks come at a time when the integrity of financial contributions to religious institutions is increasingly under scrutiny. He urged religious leaders to take a proactive stance in ensuring that donations are sourced ethically, reflecting the core values of Christianity.

The lecture, held in Lagos, served as a platform to honor Pastor Taiwo Odukoya’s legacy while addressing pressing issues facing the church today. Osinbajo’s call to action aims to foster a culture of accountability within religious institutions, ensuring that their activities align with moral and ethical standards.

By advocating for greater transparency in church donations, Osinbajo hopes to strengthen the moral fabric of the community and ensure that the church remains a beacon of integrity in society.
