Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company (AEEPCO) has resumed production at its Nembe field in Bayelsa State, following a recent oil leak.
Mr Mathew Indiana of Aiteo Media, confirmed that the joint investigative visit to the spill site by all stakeholders has been completed, and AEEPCO will reopen its facilities for production while continuing other statutory spill management protocols.
Victor Okoronkwo, AEEPCO’s Group Managing Director, stated that the company is pleased to confirm the resumption of production activities at the Nembe Swamp Field following a comprehensive evaluation of operations and infrastructure.
The team has worked hard to address the issues raised by the recent incident and to implement improved safety protocols to prevent future occurrences.
The company has also worked with regulatory bodies, local communities, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the process.
The statement reads in part:
“Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company (AEEPCO), operator of the NNPC / Aiteo Joint Venture on OML 29, confirms that, once all stakeholders have completed the joint investigative visit to the spill site as required by regulations, AEEPCO will reopen its facilities for production while continuing other statutory spill management protocols concurrently.
“As a result, AEEPCO’s Group Managing Director, Victor Okoronkwo, updated: “After a thorough evaluation of our operations and infrastructure at the Nembe Swamp Field, we are pleased to confirm the resumption of production activities.
“Our dedicated team has worked tirelessly to address the issues raised by the recent incident and to implement improved safety protocols to prevent future occurrences.
