After the gruesome killing of a retired Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army, Uwem Harold Udokwe in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has launched an investigation into the ugly incident.
Recall that General Udokwe was murdered by some unidentified gunmen suspected to be armed robbers in the nation’s capital over the weekend.
While confirming the incident in a statement, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh explained that the deceased was attacked and killed at his Sunshine Homes Estate at about 3:00AM, on Saturday.
Police Spokesperson stated that upon the receipt of the report of the incident, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, “ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding this regrettable event.”
He added that the CP, who expressed condolences to the family of the deceased, assured them and the public of swift justice, declaring that the perpetrators of the atrocious act would be apprehended and brought to justice.
