Government opens portal for recruitment of 7,000 primary school teachers
The Oyo State government has said the job portal for recruitment of public primary school teachers will be open by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
The Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Nureni Adeniran, disclosed on Tuesday while briefing newsmen at the Board’s headquarters in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Dr Adeniran said the opening of the portal for the recruitment exercise was part of the state government’s bid to reduce unemployment among its citizenry.
According to Adeniran, the portal would register each candidate with his/her email, phone number, and National Identification Number, among other requirements, to provide suitable jobs, either as teachers or caregivers.
Adeniran gave the site link as subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng for the recruitment of 7,000 teachers and 100 caregivers.
According to him, the application will be on for the next three weeks, from June 25, 2024, to July 9, 2024, saying two applicants must not use the same email address for the application.
“The government of Oyo State wants to expand the job space in the basic education sub-sector and those who are interested in working as caregivers,” Adeniran said.
“Education is a major pillar of Governor Seyi Makinde ‘s administration. We are going to have an inclusive government that will utilise valuable potentials that abound in the state, and that’s why we are employing new primary school teachers.
“Applicants can channel their complaints, or challenges encountered in the process of the online application through the support service to the phone number and email provided on the website for free support services,” he assured.
He advised applicants to upload necessary documents, adding that the recruitment would be transparent, fair, credible, and merit-based.
Dr Adeniran said the application would involve three processes, including the online application, Computer-based Test examination, and oral interview.
The SUBEB boss advised applicants to be wary of scammers, adding that the only portal for the job application is the one provided above.
According to Adeniran, the application process from beginning to end is free of charge.
He added that no staff or non-staff person was assigned to collect money from any applicant.
He, therefore, thanked Governor Makinde for his magnanimity, saying the board would not disappoint him.
