After months of vigorous planning, articulation and budgeting, Olusegun Idowu, Ademola Idowu, Olajumoke Ajayi, Olanrewaju Idowu, Temitope Adejumo, Babatunde Idowu and their entire families last weekend organized a befitting burial for their late mother, Deaconess (Mrs) Racheal Olufunke Idowu, nee Jaiyeola otherwise known as Iya Adua.
Despite high and low moments, in the vicissitudes and journey of life. the matriarch of the Idowu family still kept her faith, joyful and unbroken spirit, fortitude, forbearance and endurance, until she joined the saints triumphant.
Iya Adua until her death was known for her commitment and service to God and humanity, and flowing from this rich christian background, she was able to instill godly virtues and character into the lives of her children, grandchildren and those around her.
The funeral service of the mother of six who was born on January 23, 1946, but died on April 17, 2024 took place on Saturday, June, 29, 2024 at the Break Forth Church, Osuntokun Avenue, Bodija. This followed a private family interment at St. James Anglican church private at Ijokodo, Sango, Eleyele road, Ibadan.
Subsequently, family members, friends, associates and well wishers were hosted to a beautiful and colourful reception which held at the University of Ibadan Conference Centre, bringing together dignitaries from all walks of life and from within and outside the country as the venue of the event was filled to capacity.
Guests were equally treated to a surprise performance from classic and notable grand musicians, and there was enough to drink and eat while also leaving a positive and memorable experience from the moment they received the invitation to the time they left the party venue in the ancient city of Ibadan.
