The Federal Government contracted oil pipeline surveillance firm, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd (TSSNL) has fixed deplorable roads in Bendel Estate and adjoining communities in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
A worker in the company, who doesn’t want his name in print because he was not authorised to speak on the issue, said the move was carried out “to compliment the vision of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, in advancing Delta State and for Tantita to be part of the total package of M.O.R.E. Agenda of the Delta Government.”
The source told Saturday PUNCH in Warri on Friday that “the Delta Governor needed the support of all and sundry and that was what Tantita has offered to do”.
He added, “It is our conviction in Tantita that all oil majors and indigenous oil firms should continue to support and champion improved economic empowerment and practical interventions to improve the livelihood of our people in the Niger Delta.
Another in-house source said, “I can tell you for free that the board of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited had sometime in May decided to intervene in the repair of some roads in our locality, especially in Bendel Estate, but you know that the Chairman (Tompolo) the Vice Chairman, Engineer Mathew Tonlagha and MD, Chief Keston Pondi, do not like public show of philanthropic gestures.”
The Managing Director of TSSNL, Chief Keston Pondi, did not pick repeated calls to his line by our correspondent just as text messages sent to him for possible comments on the development were not replied.
