A two-storey residential apartment has collapsed in Abuja, leaving several people trapped in the rubble.
The building, located beside Cupid Hotel on Cupid Road (Sultan Dasuki Way) in Kubwa, was formerly a hotel, Al-Hilal, before being converted into a hospital and eventually a residential apartment.
The incident occurred around 7 am on Saturday.
Emergency responders and security personnel have been deployed to the scene. However, rescue efforts were hindered by the lack of cranes, which were yet to arrive as of 8:45 am.
Despite the challenges, two persons were rushed to a nearby hospital, while a few others managed to escape on their own.
