In a bid to determine the cause of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad’s death, a new autopsy has been performed.
On June 26, Magistrate T.A. Shotobi of the Ikorodu Coroner Court in Lagos authorised Mr. Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, to arrange an independent examination by a licensed pathologist.
The court stipulated that Mr. Aloba would cover all associated costs.
According to a statement from the family’s legal team, the autopsy was carried out on July 19 and 20, 2024.
The process is divided into two phases; the first phase is complete, and if the cause of death remains unclear, toxicology and histology tests would follow.
The procedure was observed by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, along with pathologists appointed by both him and Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi Aloba.
Mohbad, a former Marlian Music artist, passed away on September 12, 2023, sparking significant controversy and leading to several high-profile arrests.
His initial autopsy, conducted after his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, failed to reveal the cause of death due to decomposition.
Subsequent claims about toxicology testing were disputed by a US-based lab, which stated they had no record of such a test.
