The Senator representing Anambra South, Ifeanyi Ubah, died on Saturday, July 27.
Senate spokesperson, Yemi Adaramodu, confirmed Ubah’s death on Saturday, but did not give details
According to report the lawmaker had flown to United Kingdom for treatment.
Senator Ubah, the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil, was set to celebrate his 53rd birthday on September 3.
He was a ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) member and died at 53.

. Age and Early Life: Ubah passed away at the age of 52 and would have turned 53 on September 3, 2024.
. Education: Due to financial constraints, Ubah dropped out of Premiere Academy, Lugbe, Abuja, to learn trade at a young age. He later attended several local and international business courses and seminars.
. Business Ventures: Ubah became an exporter of motor tyres and spare parts in West Africa and expanded his business into Europe, including Belgium and the UK.
. Capital Oil: He founded Capital Oil in 2001, which has one of the largest tank farms for petroleum products storage and distribution in Lagos.
. The Authority Newspaper: Ubah founded The Authority Newspaper, a daily Nigerian publication, which went live on October 15, 2015.
. Football Club: He founded Ifeanyi Ubah F.C., a football club in the Nigeria Premier League, after purchasing it as Gabros International Football Club. He also established the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation.
. Political Career: Ubah contested the 2014 Anambra governorship election on the platform of the Labour Party but lost. He won the Anambra South Senatorial elections on February 24, 2019, on the platform of the Young Progressive Party and later defected to the All Progressive Congress.
. Personal Life: Ubah was married to Uchenna Ubah, a Business Administration graduate of Ahmadu Bello University. They had five children.
. Assassination Attempt: In September 2022, Ubah survived an ambush by gunmen in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State. His convoy was attacked, resulting in the deaths of at least five people, including two policemen. Ubah survived due to his bulletproof vehicle.
. He was born as the first son of seven children to Mr. & Mrs. Alphonsus Ubah in Otolo, Nnewi, Anambra State.
