…. hours after comments on Nationwide Protest
By Kayode Sanni-Arewa
Nigerian street pop artist Habeeb Olalomi, also known as Portable, has lost 100,000 Instagram followers in just a few hours after making provocative remarks about ongoing protests in Nigeria.
Portable claimed in a viral video that no protests had taken place in Sango, Ogun State, where he lives.
He claimed that prior demonstrations had been disregarded by the government, forcing him and his community to concentrate on their daily lives.
Portable’s remarks incited fury among his supporters. Within 12 hours of sharing the video, the singer’s Instagram following had dropped significantly.
Fans had threatened to unfollow him if he continued to make such statements, and many of them followed through on their threat.
Furthermore, several followers have promised to unfollow the singer if he continues to make offensive remarks.
In a previous video, Portable stirred up controversy by comparing himself to tycoon Aliko Dangote and calling protests as activities for the poor.
