Nigerian athlete Favour Ofili breaks down into tears after she finished sixth in the women’s 200 metres final at the 2024 Paris Olympics, clocking 22.24 seconds.
Gabrielle Thomas of the United States won the race with a time of 21.83 seconds. Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred claimed the silver medal with 22.08 seconds, and USA’s Brittany Brown took the bronze.
Favour couldn’t compete in the 100m because the AFN and NOC failed to register her even after she qualified.
At the 2020 Olympics, she was not able to was not able to compete because AFN, NADC and NOC failed to release funds for athletes in the USA to be tested.
