Mobil temporarily closes Ikeja Station over fire Incidents

The management of 11 Plc, formerly known as Mobil Oil Nigeria, has announced the temporary closure of its service station on Obafemi Awolowo Road, Ikeja, Lagos State, following a fire incident that occurred on Thursday morning.

The fire broke out at the Mobil Service Station at around 11 a.m., prompting a swift response from the company’s emergency team.

In a statement released to the press on Thursday, 11 Plc confirmed that the fire was successfully extinguished through collaboration with the Lagos State Fire Service, the Nigerian Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corps, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The management emphasised its commitment to public safety, stating that the station will remain closed until further notice.

The company also expressed its full cooperation with relevant authorities to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the fire.

It further noted that they are assessing the extent of the damage and implementing necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Our immediate response team, inc ollaboration with the Lagos State Fire Service, LASEMA, FRSC, the Nigerian Police Force, and NSCDC, effectively extinguished the fire.

“In the interest of public safety, we have temporarily closed the station until further notice. Our company is cooperating fully with the relevant agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire,” the statement noted.
