Speaker Abbas Appoints House Leader, Ihonvbere Co-Chair C’ttee Investigating Petroleum Industry

The Speaker of the House of Representatives has appointed Rep. Julius Ihonvbere as Co-Chairman of the Joint Senate/House Committee on Petroleum Industry Investigation. 
 
This was contained in a statement by the Chairman House Committee on Media and Publicity, Rep. Akin Rotimi, on Friday in Abuja, titled : “APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE JOINT SENATE/HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON PETROLEUM INDUSTRY INVESTIGATION”
 
The statement reads: “The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD., has appointed the following Honourable Members to the Joint Senate/House Committee tasked with investigating alleged economic sabotage within the petroleum industry:
 
“The urgency and importance of this matter have necessitated close collaboration between the Senate and the House of Representatives. This new structure aims to ensure synergy, a holistic approach to addressing the issues, and ease of administrative coordination, resulting in a harmonized and efficient investigation.
 
“The Committee is expected to commence its duties immediately, with a clear mandate to ensure accountability and transparency in the sector”.
 
Other member of the Committee includes; Rep. Iduma Ighariwey, Rep. Gboyega N. Isiaka, Rep. Sada Soli, Rep. Fatima Talba, Rep. Tunji Raheem and Rep. Patrick Umoh.
 
Naijablitznews.com recalled that the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas had dissolved the Joint Committee Investigating Oil and Gas sector, Co-chaired, by Rep. Ikenga Ugochinyere and Rep. Alhassan Ado Doguwa.
