Nigerian Soldiers Fighting Terrorists Decry Inadequate Food Provisions, Share Photos Of Unwholesome Meals

Despite increased budgetary allocations, the soldiers claim they are still being served subpar meals unfit for consumption, even by dogs.

Nigerian Army troops fighting terrorism in the Northeast region have once again expressed frustration over inadequate food provisions by their superiors.

Despite increased budgetary allocations, the soldiers claim they are still being served subpar meals unfit for consumption, even by dogs.

Recently, their monthly food allowance was raised from N30,000 to N36,000 per person due to rising food prices, but the quality of food remains a concern.

They also asked the authorities to review their monthly allowances.

One of the soldiers said, “Furthermore, this monthly allowance called sky skill need to be reviewed due to the irregularities. It goes as follows, Pte soldier to Corporal is collecting N20,000, Sergeant to Staff Sergeant is collecting N25,000 while Warrant Officer to M Warrant Officer collect N30,000.”

“Just imagine this, how do you expect respect and balancing in the system? Soldiers buy military kit including uniforms and boots themselves. These are the issues and don’t forget that billions of dollars are being budgeted yearly to buy all these things,” another soldier said.

It has been previously reported that Nigerian soldiers have expressed grievances regarding inadequate food provisions and poor welfare conditions.
