Bandits on Tuesday attacked Galadimawa Village in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducting the wife of the village head alongside two of their children.
Confirming the attack, the Sarkin Fada of Galadimawa, Hussaini Umar told Journalists that the people of the village are not safe as bandits continually attack the community and causing them untold pains.
Narrating the incident, Umar said, “The second wife of our village head, Alhaji Aliyu Haruna Galadimawa and two children were kidnapped around 11:30 pm on Tuesday 21st August, 2024 by bandits who stormed his residence in large number. As we speak, the whole community is confused and we really need help.
“The bandits were heard asking for the whereabouts of the village head, they came specifically to kidnap him but could not find him. They attacked and ransacked the entire house, including the ceiling, after breaking through the wall. When they could not find the village head, they took his second wife and the two children.
“We are appealing to the government to save Galadimawa village from these bandits because we are tired of being kidnapped and attacked every now and then.
“Presently, about 20 surrounding villages have moved to Galadimawa due to insecurity, yet we are still not safe from the bandits,” he stressed.
Kaduna State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Munsir Hassan could not be reached for reaction as at the time of filing this report.
