A delegation of prominent political figures, including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, visited former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at his Abuja residence on Wednesday.
The group, which included former governors Nasir El-Rufai, Sule Lamido, and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, was seen in photos posted on social media.
The visit was a courtesy call to seek Atiku’s blessing for the marriage of his daughter to a member of the Kashim Imam family.
Kashim Ibrahim-Imam is a Nigerian politician who has contested for the governorship of Borno State twice, in 2003 and 2007, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) banner, but lost to Ali Modu Sheriff of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) on both occasions.
He served as Presidential Liaison Officer to the Senate during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.
Notably, he emerged as the PDP’s candidate for Borno State Governor in the 2003 primary election, winning 177 out of 185 votes.
