AIG, Olatoye Durosimi Honours IGP Kayode Egbetokun With Massive Podium At Zone 2

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Olatoye Durosimi, in charge of Zone 2, Police Command, Onikan, Lagos, who recently pulled out of the Nigeria Police Force after contributing productive 35 years of service in a very successful career has erected a very massive podium in honor of the Inspector General Of Police of Nigeria, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
The podium was unveiled in a well-attended Pull-Out -Ceremony held at the Zone 2 Police Command Headquarters, Onikan Lagos in a 3 in 1 memorable event.
Durosimi used the opportunity to speak on the need for the government to improve the funding, training, and equipment of the police force.
He maintained that there is a need to improve funding for the force.
And revealed that this could not be overemphasized considering the increasingly complex security challenges facing the nation.
According to him, Police Force is essential to maintain law and order, protect citizens, and ensure national security and strength.
“The Federal government should invest more in the Police Force and the welfare of its personnel and retired officers”.
“What we have seen among our serving personnel and retired officers is not encouraging, and I would like the authorities to address these flaws as quickly as possible.
The situation where what they receive is inadequate must be looked into.
Good amenities should be provided so they do not suffer premature deaths. Many retirees are still strong and can contribute to the nation’s growth.”
AIG appealed to the General public to make policing easy for the personnel for national interest and safety of all.
“Policing in Nigeria may appear strenuous and tasking, but the significance of the police as facilitators or initiators of change cannot be underestimated or overstated”.
“It is disheartening that personnel of the Nigerian police Force who travel abroad return home with concerns. The Police Force requires advanced technologies to enhance performance and yield results”.
“Many were called, but few were chosen. I am grateful to my mentor, Tafa Balogun who guided me.
I also appreciate the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun who allowed me to serve as AIG. My years in the Police have been marked by opportunities as I moved across the nation.”
Speaking further on the podium he built in honour of the IGP Kayode Egbetokun, he said that IGP Egbetokun has done so much for the force and deserved more honors and accolades. Police and media have a symbiotic relationship.
The podium can be used to take lots of photographs and as memorials of IGP efforts in the Nigeria Police Force.
Nevertheless, It would be recalled that AIG Olatoye Durosimi’s farewell events took place at Ikeja Police Command where the parade took place.
Unveiling of IGP Kayode Egbetokun Photo Podium at Zone 2 was the second event while the Island Club party was the grand finale and mother of all ceremony where crème la crème personalities graced the occasion in honour of Mr. Project, AIG Olatoye Durosimi.

Reps Recommends Delisting NECO, UI, Labour Ministry, 21 Others From 2025 Budget

By Gloria Ikibah
The House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has called for the removal of the National Examination Council (NECO), University of Ibadan (UI), Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, and 21 other federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) from the 2025 budget.
This recommendation follows their repeated failure to account for previous allocations and internally generated revenue.
During an extraordinary session on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, the Committee resolved that these MDAs should be excluded from the budget until they comply with its directives.
Chairman of the Committee, Rep. Bamidele Salam, stressed: “The Financial Regulation empowers the National Assembly to exclude any Ministry, Department, or Agency (MDA) that fails to account for their previous appropriations. As such, the listed MDAs should be excluded from the 2025 budget until they appear before this constitutional committee.”
The decision was prompted by the consistent non-compliance of these MDAs despite multiple summons issued by the Committee to scrutinize their financial operations.
Prominent institutions among those recommended for delisting include hospitals, universities, and federal development agencies. Some of the affected MDAs are:
- Federal Medical Centre, Bida
- Federal Ministry of Labour & Employment
- Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria
- Nigeria Police Force: Department of Information and Communication Technology
- Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba
- Federal College of Education, Yola
- Federal Polytechnic Ekowe, Bayelsa State
- Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi
- Federal University of Technology, Minna
- Cross River Basin Development Authority
- Nigeria Office for Trade Negotiation
- National Examination Council (NECO)
- Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil
- Presidential Amnesty Programme
- Galaxy Backbone
- Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals
Others include the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Authority, National Space Research and Development Agency, Federal Cooperative College (Ibadan), Upper Niger River Basin Development Authority, University of Lagos, University of Ibadan, and Federal School of Survey, Oyo State.
The Committee unanimously recommended that the MDAs in question be delisted from the 2025 budget until they comply with the request for documentation and provide necessary financial clarifications.
