Kaduna Police nab cattle rustlers, gunrunners

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested two cattle rustlers, two notorious gunrunners, and foiled a kidnapping attempt in separate operations across the state.

In a statement, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, said the arrests were made following a raid on a hideout in Kasuwa Magani, Kujama last Thursday.

The operatives, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended two suspects, Aminu Saleh (25) and Jafar Ibrahim (24), who confessed to their involvement in cattle rustling. The suspects also said four members of their syndicate were still at large.

On the same day, the Command’s Tracking and Response Team intercepted a kidnapping attempt following a report by Shafiu Abdullahi, who had received threatening calls demanding a ransom of N10 million. The police arrested three suspects, Umar Baso, Shehu Filani, and Babangida Abdulkarim, all residents of Soba and Kajuru LGAs. The suspects have since confessed to their crime.
