El-Rufai’s 2027 presidential campaign poster surfaces
A campaign poster for former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s 2027 presidential bid has surfaced on social media.
The poster featured El-Rufai as the presidential candidate and former Nigerian Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as his running mate.
The appearance of the poster has sparked a wave of reactions online, with many users expressing doubt about the feasibility of this ticket.
See reactions below:
Umar Abubakar wrote: “Na for timeline we see am. Na for timeline e go end.”
Sam commented: “This is why feminism is important. Imagine you’ve been MD operations of World Bank, 2 time minister, served on the board of Twitter and current DG of WTO and people think you should become VP to…El Rufai. El freaking Rufai? Jeez .”
Jack_ng noted: “Ngozi Okonjo Iwela should deputize Nasir?Una dey disrespect Igbo people too much in this country and it angers me greatly. Was this for clout or someone actually came up with this formula? “
Felix O tweeted: “Why not the other way around…? Lets go for something entirely new… try a female President, also try a person from the SE of Nigeria. It looks more like something fresh…right?
Afterall the woman in question is the Head of the WTO…”.
Vanessa wrote: “Lmao, seriously? Comparing NOI to El Rufai is laughable. What track record does El Rufai have that even remotely matches hers? If there’s serious discussion about El Rufai for president, we’re in much deeper trouble than we thought.”
Mary Rose commented: “Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has more than enough experience with leadership to run for and become president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria but even in you people’s imaginations, it is forbidden that a woman should lead, she always has to come second. F you and F the patriarchy!”.
In 2023, El-Rufai’s attempt to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket was unsuccessful.
He lost the party’s primary election, which was eventually won by Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
