IPOB denies attacking police, tackles Uzodimma, Mbah on insecurity

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denied claims by the Enugu State Police that its security outfit, Eastern Security Network (ESN), attacked police officers at Four Corner, Enugu State on August 18, 2024.

In a statement yesterday by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB described the police claim as “propaganda.”

The group emphasized that ESN operatives do not wear military uniforms and have never attacked any Nigerian security agency or institution. Instead, they focus on keeping Biafra’s farmlands and forests safe for agricultural activities.

“ESN Operatives never and will never wear military uniforms. Since the formation of ESN, IPOB has consistently maintained that Biafra does not have an army yet,” Powerful said.

IPOB also accused Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State and Hope Uzodimma of Imo State of collaborating with Nigerian security agencies to blackmail IPOB and ESN and sponsoring insecurity in the Southeast region.

The group warned that any Biafran involved in damaging IPOB’s image would suffer for their “evil collaboration.”
