Appreciative Rema donates N105m to home church for supporting family after father’s passage
Afrobeats sensation, Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, donated N105m to a Christ Embassy church in Benin, Edo State, on Sunday.
The donation was made during a Sunday service, where Rema thanked the church for its support and guidance.
In a now-viral video, he said, “I’m not here to give myself any accolades or glory. I’m here to give God the glory. I feel like it is important to give back because the church has embraced, prayed for me, and has kept me very consistent with my spirit.
Firstly, I want to give a pledge of N40m to the infrastructure of the church. I want to pledge N20m to Rhapsody of Realities, and being the fact that I came from the teens church, I also want to pledge N25m to the infrastructure of the teens church.
It was reported that Rema arrived his hometown in Benin on Tuesday ahead of his highly anticipated homecoming concert.
Music producer Collins Michael, aka Don Jazzy, and Mavin crew also arrived in Benin to show support for Rema’s homecoming concert
Rema was said to have entertained the Oba of Benin at his palace who presented a royal plaque to him ahead of the concert.

Afrobeat star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently graced the Ethiopia New Year celebration, marking the country’s transition into 2017.
Videos circulating online showcase Davido performing at the vibrant event held in Addis Ababa, where thousands of Ethiopians gathered to celebrate their unique New Year traditions.
Ethiopia is seven years behind the rest of the world, as the country follows its unique calendar system, known as the Ethiopian calendar or Ge’ez calendar.

Beyoncé, an American singer, has acknowledged her accomplishments with pride.

In addition, she is among the best-selling musicians in history worldwide.

Netizens hammer Portable for molesting man for ‘preaching at his bar’

Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has ignited outrage online after a video surfaced showing him slapping a man who was reportedly preaching at his bar.
The incident quickly went viral and drew backlash from netizens who condemned the artist’s aggressive behaviour, reigniting discussions about his controversial public conduct.
Portable on Monday, went live on Instagram as he confronted a middle-aged man outside his bar in Sango Ota, Ogun State.
The visibly enraged singer, addressing the man who seemed to be holding a Bible, questioned, “Why disturb my customers on a Monday morning?” before proceeding to slap him.
“This is how they spoil my business and disturb my business. Are you crazy? Early on a Monday, you’re spoiling my business. I had prayed for myself before leaving home,” he added before asking the man to leave the vicinity.
Portable’s actions did not sit well with many social media users; some of whom called him out for assault.
Reacting to this some netizens on X.com, tweeting with #delemon said
Why will Portable slap a Pastor? This Bro Doesn’t deserve the fame we gave him #jbrandy_YBNL slammed him, saying”Why will Portable slap a Pastor? This Bro Doesn’t deserve the fame we gave him.”
Another user, weeping as #TemitayoOdede wrote, “This guy portable don Dey do too much ooo Like see the effrontery, slapping man of God like, what could he have done for him to slap that man.”
However, a user, #delemon supported Portable, saying, “I heard a lot of people saying this is assault and he should get a lawyer. If the Man is a genuine Man of God, Portable can’t escape what is coming to me. You slap a servant of a living God? The man doesn’t even need to alter a word to God, he’s done for.”
