Guinean President Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Cooperation

President of the National Council for the Transition of Guinea, Rt. Hon. Dr. Dansa Kourouma, has reiterated Guinea’s dedication to regional cooperation and upholding democratic principles.
 
Kourouma stated this at the ongoing ECOWAS Parliament delocalized meeting, of the Joint Committee on Health/Education, Science and Culture/Telecommunications and Information Technology/Industry and Private Sector which commenced on Tuesday in Conakry, Guinea.
 
President Kourouma who emphasized the significance of hosting ECOWAS representatives in Guinea, said it a validation of the nation’s efforts toward transition and reconstruction.
 
He further expressed Guinea’s gratitude for the support from ECOWAS.
 
He stated, “We consider the holding of these proceedings on Guinean soil as a recognition of our efforts towards transition and reconstruction”.
 
Addressing the challenges facing the region, President Kourouma acknowledged the growing discontent within the West African community. 
 
“How can we ignore the fact that our regional community is facing disaffection here and there?”, he questioned, underlining the importance of solidarity among West African nations.
 
He also reaffirmed Guinea’s commitment to democratic values, inclusivity, and active participation in the constitutional reform process.
 
“We have ensured that this return to normalcy aligns with the principles of inclusion and participation that we have imposed on ourselves”, he added. 
 
The theme of the delocalized meeting is “Promoting Healthcare Services and Education in West Africa: The Role of ECOWAS Parliament”, and it aims to share experiences and best practices in enhancing health and education across the region.
