Jai Evans, a prominent Australian public relations expert and entertainment icon, was found dead in his luxury Sydney apartment in Darlinghurst on Thursday.
Evans, who passed away at age 43, had over two decades of experience in the industry, founding his own business, Evans Media, in 2005, Mail Online reports.
The cause of Evans’ death remains unknown, according to a source who spoke to DailyMail Australia.
Bondi fitness entrepreneur Dan Wootton shared the sad news on social media, posting a heartfelt tribute to his late friend.
“RIP Jai Evans. Another beautiful friend taken much too soon before his time,” Wootton wrote, adding, “Your vibrant energy & eagerness to help was second to none. Rest easy Jai, love you mate.”
Jai’s career spanned a variety of roles in public relations, advertising, and media, working closely with major companies such as Channel Nine, Sky News, News Limited, BRW, and Vogue. He was well-known for helping Australian key media players achieve their marketing goals.
Evans also counted Australian A-List celebrities like actress Lara Worthington and e-commerce entrepreneur Anastasia Fai Kogan among his friends. Additionally, he made a brief appearance in an episode of ‘Home and Away’ in 1997, showcasing his talent beyond public relations.
Earlier this year, Evans shared his insights on managing public image with Pedestrian, particularly advising ‘Married At First Sight” cast members on the challenges of being in the public eye.
“Navigating the social media landscape can be particularly tricky for controversial MAFS figures,” Evans explained.
He noted that brands and businesses might hesitate to engage with individuals perceived as having compromised credibility.
