Rep Asama Hails Appeal Court Judgement, Pledges Effective Representation

A member of the House of Representatives, Rep. Daniel Asama, representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency of Plateau State, has described the decision if the Court of Appeal affirming his electoral victory as a testament to justice and the will of the people.
Naijablitznews.com reports that on Friday, the Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld the ruling of the National Assembly Election Tribunal, which had declared Rep. Asama of the Labour Party (LP) as the winner of the bye-election for the Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja shortly after the judgement, the lawmaker reassured his constituents of his commitment to providing effective representation and to focus on attracting development to the constituency and contributing to the making of laws that would benefit the entire country.
“I give all thanks to God Almighty and to the people of Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency and Plateau State for their steadfast support,” Asama said.
He also expressed gratitude to the judiciary for its role in ensuring justice.
“This victory is dedicated to God and the people who stood by me throughout this journey. I commend the judiciary for proving once again that it is the hope of the common man”, he added.
The lawmaker further extended his appreciation to Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for his unwavering support and commitment to upholding democratic principles.
“The Governor’s leadership and dedication have been crucial in ensuring that the people’s will is respected,” Asama remarked.
He reaffirmed his dedication to serving the people of Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency and acknowledged the efforts of his legal team, whose expertise was key to their success.
Rep. Asama therefore called on his political opponent to accept the court’s decision, stating, “I urge my opponent to recognize that the will of God has prevailed and join me in working towards the progress of our constituency.”
