Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser on Media to President Bola Tinubu, has resigned from his position, citing medical reasons.
In a statement released on Saturday, September 7, 2024, Ngelale explained that his decision was based on the need to address pressing health issues within his immediate family.
He stated that on Friday, he had submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President, formally requesting an indefinite leave of absence.
“I have informed my office that I am stepping aside indefinitely to attend to urgent medical matters currently affecting my immediate family,” Ngelale said.
While acknowledging the demands of public service, Ngelale expressed that his decision, which includes stepping down from his role as Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, was a difficult one.
He added that the choice was made after thorough consultations with his family, as the medical situation at home had become more severe.
