The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, on Sunday, received for the first time a Northern emir on a solidarity visit to his palace since his reinstatement as the Emir of Kano by Governor Abba Yusuf.

The Emir of Potiskum in Yobe State, Umar Bauya, was received at the palace by other traditional rulers from the Kano emirate.

Bauya said during the visit that he was at the palace to extend their support to Emir Sanusi, who also doubled as the Nigeria spiritual Leader of the Tijaniyya Sect.

He reminded Sanusi that history is repeating itself with his second coming as Emir, “It happened to me some 26 years ago and with the help of Allah, I was returned and living peacefully with my people.

“The return of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II is a significant milestone that justified that he is a good leader who thinks and acts for his people; as such, he should count on my personal support and that of my people,” he said.

“We are seeking your usual support on the construction of a Jumaat Mosque at my palace, which we started about three years ago, but it has been stalled due to some financial difficulties. We hope that you will help us as usual to complete the project,” he said.

Responding, Sanusi thanked Bauya as he was the first emir from the Northern part of the country to visit his palace on a solidarity visit.
