Dino Melaye, a former Kogi state senator, has been suspended from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the Kogi State chapter.
Melaye was suspended by the PDP executive committee in Ward 1 of Ayetoro Gbede after he disregarded a summons.
Melaye’s suspension was due to his anti-party activity and misbehavior, as stated by the Ward executive.
During a meeting in Aiyetoro/Luagba Ward 1 on Friday to review the report of the disciplinary committee established to look into suspected anti-party activities against him, the Ward party executive committee decided to suspend the former senator from Kogi West.
Abayomi Osamika, the Ward Chairman, and Yodson Dayo, the Ward Secretary, signed it.
The resolution that ZINGTIE was able to view states: “Senator Dino Melaye’s conduct has brought embarrassment and disrepute to the party and his continued membership is no longer tenable.
Therefore, the Ward party exco hereby suspends Dino Melaye from the Peoples Democratic party, effective and immediately.
“The suspension is in line with provisions of Article 59 (1) of the PDP constitution which empowers the Ward party excos to take disciplinary actions against erring members.”
