The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus in the House of Representatives has contributed about N200 million to support the campaign of the party’s governorship candidate for the governorship election holding this Saturday.
The caucus pledged its unwavering support for the party’s candidates, Senator Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa who are both sitting members of the 10th National Assembly.
This is contained in a statement signed by Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the APC Reps’ Fundraising Committee for Edo Governorship Election, Hon. Benjamin Kalu
The statement said “In a strong demonstration of solidarity and loyalty to the party, the APC Reps Caucus contributed a sum of N200 million towards the party’s campaign for the September 21 governorship poll.
“The donation, made by individual members of the APC in the 10th House, was coordinated under the leadership of Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu.
“The Caucus expressed its determination to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the party’s victory, emphasizing their commitment to supporting Senator Okpebholo and Hon. Idahosa—esteemed colleagues who have consistently shown capacity and competence in their public service.
“The cheque for the donation was presented by the Leader of the House, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, and witnessed by Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, Clerk of the House of Representatives, Billy Osawaru, and Prof. Jake Dan-Azumi, Chief of Staff to the Speaker.
