Nigeria’s elder Stateman Chief Edwin Clark, has congratulated Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on the successful completion of the Dangote Refinery and the commencement of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) distribution on September 3, 2024, with nationwide supply starting October 15, 2024.
In a statement signed by Chief Clark and made available to naijablitznews.com on Tuesday in Abuja, he commended President Bola Tinubu’s leadership for facilitating the milestone and congratulated Nigerians.
According to him, Dangote’s dedication to innovation has once again elevated Nigeria on the global stage.
The statement reads in part: “While I am unable to visit the refinery in person, the positive impact on our nation’s energy security, employment, and economic growth is evident.
“This achievement will significantly strengthen the Nigerian economy by boosting domestic production, decreasing import dependence, and creating numerous job opportunities for our youth. The days of long queues at filling stations should soon be behind us.
“I also commend Alhaji Dangote for his philanthropic efforts, including the distribution of rice across Nigeria. I encourage other entrepreneurs to follow his example in contributing to national development.
“Congratulations are also due to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose leadership has facilitated this significant milestone. I urge President Tinubu to continue supporting this and similar projects in the oil and gas sector. Ensuring a steady supply of crude oil to the refinery and maintaining fair pricing for Nigerians are crucial. Affordable domestic goods are a standard in many countries, and Nigeria should not be an exception.
“Additionally, I recommend revisiting the policy on Modular Refineries in the Niger Delta to complement the Dangote Refinery. This policy, supported by former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, included a promise to create a Special Fund.
“Congratulations once again to all Nigerians as we experience renewed national pride after decades of relying on imported petroleum products. I wish continued success to President Tinubu, Alhaji Dangote, and their teams”, he added.
