Elder statesman and business magnet, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, on Tuesday, donated a sum of N1.5 billion to flood victims that ravaged some parts of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital recently.
Dantata made the donation when he led a delegation from Kano to Government House, Maiduguri, on Tuesday to share their moments of grief.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum, the government, and the people of the state, especially those who lost their loved ones to the flood.
Dantata who lamented the level of deterioration of the economy in the country, urged the elites and political leaders to repent and fear God.
He prayed for peace and harmony of the Borno State and Nigeria at large.
Responding, Zulum expressed appreciation to the Elder Stateman for his compassionate visit, acknowledging that it has served as a beacon of hope and solidarity during moments of grief.
“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of magnanimity by a 96-year-old to visit us. Let me announce it, Our Baba has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to support the flood victims,” Zulum said.
The development comes on the heels of Dantata’s nephew, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who also made a donation of N1 billion to the flood victims.
