Mo Wa Pa,’ US music icon Rihanna says as she learns how to speak Yoruba

In a video that has gone viral, global music superstar, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, professionally known as Rihanna, was captured enthusiastically learning and speaking the Yoruba language.

The video was recorded on Monday at Rihanna’s Fenty Hair event in London, United Kingdom.

In the video shared Tuesday on X by @ririnavybih, the Barbadian singer-songwriter was filmed repeating the Yoruba phrase ‘Mo wa pa’ after being taught by a Nigerian man identified as Senorfenty on X.

The video has continued to capture the hearts of her fans, particularly those with Nigerian and Yoruba heritage, who have praised her attempt to learn and speak Yoruba.

‘Mo wa pa’ is a Yoruba phrase that loosely translates to ‘I am good.’

Similarly, the ‘Umbrella’ singer was also seen at the event with Nigerian video director Dammy Twitch, participating in the viral ‘Unavailable’ dance challenge by Davido.
