Lagos Police Arrest Two Women For Sale Of Newborn Twins

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two women, Ujunwa Una and Chinelo Igbechionwu, for conspiracy and child trafficking.

The arrest was made by patrol officers from the Ojodu Division at Berger bus stop, a key entry point into Lagos.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the women were caught with two newborn baby girls, about six days old, while traveling from Abia State on September 9, 2024.

Investigations revealed that they were transporting the babies to a nurse in Lagos, whom the mother had arranged for them to meet.
