Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, has approved the sum of N3.5bn as counterpart fund for the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
This sum would attract the sum of N7bn for the construction and renovation of public primary schools across the state.
Speaking to journalists after the State Executive Council, Commissioner for Education, Mr. Olaolu Akindolire, said public schools across the three senatorial districts would be affected.
On his part, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, said the Council approved the appointment of Oba Daramola Oluwasola Samuel as the new Olupele of Ipele in Owo Local Government Area and upgraded the Olusan of Ayesan chieftaincy to a monarchical status.
Commissioner for Information, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, said the Governor ordered the repair of all potholes in the state.
