Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Benjamin Kalu has congratulated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (the Ọjájá II) on his 50th birthday.
The Deputy Speaker who extolled the virtues of Ooni, lauded the esteemed leadership he has brought to the traditional institution, and said that his dedication to tradition, culture and progress of the society has earned him a special place in the hearts of his people.
He said the Ooni has continued to be a source of inspiration to many whom he has provided guidance and positive counsel.
Kalu also noted Ooni’s commitment to peace and security of the Nigerian polity, recalling the noble role he played during the unveiling of the Peace In South East Project (PISE-P), the Deputy Speaker’s intervention in the pursuit of peace and the security of the South East through non kinetic measures.
He prayed God to continue to bless the monarch with more wisdom and long life in good health.
Kalu said: “On this auspicious occasion of your birthday, we pay homage to your esteemed leadership, wisdom, and selfless service to our community. Your steadfast dedication to tradition, culture, and progress has earned you a revered place in our hearts.
