Big Brother Naija Season 9 winner Kellyrae has expressed his frustration over the barrage of financial assistance requests from family and friends following his public disclosure of a huge gift to his wife, Kassia.
Since announcing that he gifted Kassia N55 million from his N60 million prize money, Kellyrae revealed in an interview with media personality Hero Daniels that he has been inundated with requests from acquaintances seeking a share of his winnings.
“I was receiving calls from people close to us after I said I gave Kassia N55 million, and they were asking for their own share of my prize money,” he lamented.
In his plea for understanding, Kellyrae stressed that he is not as financially secure as some might assume.
“I would like to say to everyone, I’m not a rich man yet, please. The money is big, but things are expensive. Even if it’s egg I want to buy, how many crates of eggs will I buy? Please allow a brother to settle.”
Kellyrae, who also walked away with a brand new car valued at N40 million, urged his supporters to give him time to manage his finances responsibly.
