Nigerian actor Ayo Emmanuel, famous for his consistent portrayal of police officers in Nollywood movies, has passed away.
According to reports from a close family member, the actor had been hospitalized, battling prostate cancer.
Emmanuel, fondly called “Uncle Ayo,” succumbed to the illness on the morning of Wednesday, October 23.
A touching tribute was shared on Facebook by one of his close friends, Mickey Odey, who expressed his grief:
“You never failed to call me your brother from another mother whenever we were together… Just a few months ago, we were together when I was robbed, and now to hear that you are gone… I spoke with you just last week, and you said you were better… May your gentle soul rest in paradise, my brother from another mother.”
Emmanuel’s passing has left a significant void in the Nigerian film industry.
He will be remembered for his memorable roles and contributions to Nollywood.
