Dangote Cement Plc’s Group Managing Director, Arvind Pathak, has announced a plan to transition the company’s fleet to run predominantly on CNG by mid-2026. In a statement released by Dangote Group on Sunday, Pathak highlighted that investments are underway to expand CNG fueling infrastructure to support this transition and ensure reliable fuel access for the growing fleet.
Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, revealed that the company has allocated $280 million to the purchase of CNG-powered vehicles, aligning with Nigeria’s push towards green energy.
“With President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, our commitment to cleaner energy is steadfast,” Dangote said, underscoring the importance of private sector involvement in the nation’s green energy shift.
This move aligns with the Presidential Initiative on CNG, which aims to expand CNG access across more Nigerian states as an alternative to Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), further supporting the country’s environmental goals.
