During the operation, three stolen children, whose names were withheld, were successfully rescued.
Operatives of the Imo State Police Command Quick Intervention Unit have arrested a 36-year-old woman suspected of child trafficking.
The police in a statement by Henry Okoye, Imo state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) said the arrest followed “thorough investigations and intelligence-led operations” conducted on 20th November 2024 in Amajeke, Owerri.
During the operation, three stolen children, whose names were withheld, were successfully rescued.
The police confirmed, “The children have since been safely reunited with their parents.”
Further investigations are ongoing to uncover additional details about the suspect’s alleged involvement in child trafficking activities.
The statement added, “Operatives of the Imo State Police Command Quick Intervention Unit have arrested a 36-year-old female suspected of child trafficking and successfully rescued three stolen children (names withheld).
“The arrest followed thorough investigations and intelligence-led operations carried out on 20th November 2024 in Amajeke, Owerri. The children have since been safely reunited with their parents.”
