Chelsea Shift From Victor Osimhen, Focus Shifts to Squad Refinement

Published

on

Chelsea are reported by not revisiting their pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in January, according to The Athletic. Despite this, the club is expected to remain active in the transfer market as they continue to refine their squad under Enzo Maresca.

The report suggests that Raheem Sterling is unlikely to be recalled from his loan spell at Arsenal, while players such as Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell do not appear to have significant roles in Maresca’s plans moving forward.

The situation surrounding young Spanish striker Marc Guiu remains unclear. Maresca has reportedly expressed a desire to retain the promising forward, but Guiu himself might prefer a loan move to secure more playing time and further his development.

With the January transfer window approaching, Chelsea’s plans will likely hinge on balancing squad depth with opportunities for young talents, as Maresca continues to shape the team to his vision.
