The Osun State Government has constituted a 100-member panel to investigate the incessant land disputes between Ifon and Ilobu of Orolu and Irepodun local government areas respectively.
Ifon and Ilobu have been engaged in bloody clashes that have led to killings and destruction of property in recent times as a result of land dispute.
The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, and the Chairman, Osun State Boundary Commission, Justice Moshood Adeigbe, will lead the100-member
Land Crisis Resolution Committee of on Ifon and Ilobu boundary crisis.
The State Commissioner for Information and Civic Engagement, Kolapo Alimi, in a statement on Friday said the government put in place the committee to address the incessant land disputes.
Alimi said each of the three affected communities of Ifon, Ilobu and Erin Osun had 25 representatives, while the state government would equally be represented by 25 members.
He explained that Governor Ademola Adeleke set up the committee with a view to bringing a lasting end to the incessant land disputes among the affected communities in Irepodun and Orolu local government areas.
The commissioner said Adeleke will inaugurate the committee on Tuesday at the government secretariat, Abere.
