Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has distanced himself from the stance of other South-South governors regarding the proposed state of emergency in Rivers State.
Speaking in Benin on Thursday, Okpebholo stated that he was neither consulted nor informed about the decision to oppose President Bola Tinubu’s potential declaration of emergency rule in Rivers.
While acknowledging the right of other South-South governors to express their views, he emphasized that President Tinubu fully understood the complexities of the situation.
Okpebholo affirmed his support for Tinubu’s actions aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability in Rivers State and the entire South-South region.
