The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has congratulated Muslim journalists and the entire Muslim community in Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, encouraging them to continue upholding values such as unity, patience, and integrity.
Comrade Grace Ike commended Muslim faithful for their dedication., self-discipline, and spiritual commitment throughout the holy month of Ramadan. She described this period as a time for deep reflection, reinforcing the values of love, sacrifice, and unity.
“As we celebrate the end of Ramadan, we are reminded of the importance of patience, generosity, and compassion. These values should continue to guide us in both our work as journalists and our responsibilities as citizens of this great country,” she said.
The NUJ FCT Chairman also called on all Nigerians to embrace the spirit of Eid by promoting peace, understanding, and a strong commitment to truth and justice. She emphasised the vital role journalists play in maintaining integrity, fostering national unity, and contributing to Nigeria’s development.
She expressed hope that the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations would bring renewed hope, blessings, and prosperity to all Nigerians, encouraging everyone to observe the festivities with love, harmony, and a sense of renewed purpose.
“The Council extends its best wishes to all Muslim faithful and prays for lasting peace, progress, and unity in the country,” the statement concluded.
Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is a significant religious celebration for Muslims worldwide. It is a time for gratitude, community gatherings, and acts of charity.
As the celebrations continue, the NUJ FCT Council has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting professionalism among journalists and supporting a more united and peaceful Nigeria.
