Dele Momodu, a prominent publisher and media mogul, has called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio to embrace peace in the ongoing feud with Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The conflict escalated after Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended for breaching the Senate’s rules following her sexual assault allegations against Akpabio. As the matter continues to stir debate across the country, Momodu emphasized the importance of resolving the issue in a peaceful manner.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Monday, Momodu urged Akpabio to prioritize peace over conflict.
“I think it is important for both of them to settle this matter amicably. At the end of the day, the Senate and Nigeria’s democracy will be better off if peace prevails.”
The feud began when Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Akpabio of sexual assault, a claim that has sparked significant controversy. Following the allegations, the Senate suspended Akpoti-Uduaghan for allegedly breaching Senate rules.
The public debate surrounding the incident has drawn attention not only to gender-based violence but also to institutional procedures in handling such serious accusations.
As the situation unfolds, political figures like Momodu are calling for a calm and conciliatory approach to resolving the conflict between the two senators.
